The Lions Club of Mukono Host is a dedicated community service organization committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of people in Mukono and beyond. Through the spirit of “We Serve,” we bring together passionate volunteers who work to address community needs and create positive, sustainable change.
Our service focuses on key areas including vision care, diabetes awareness, childhood cancer support, hunger relief, environmental conservation, mental health, blood donation, and community development.

On 20th June 2026, at Lekasa Gardens, Mukono, Lion Paul Mudduse MJF officially handed over the leadership of the Lions Club of Mukono Host to the new Club President, Lion Fortunate Nduwera.
The ceremony was witnessed by the District Governor, LN Tush Naturinda, and marked an important transition of leadership as the club continues its commitment to serving the community under the Lions motto: “We Serve.”
Vision Services
The Lions Club of Mukono Host is committed to improving the quality of life through accessible eye-care services. Our vision initiatives include eye screening, provision of reading glasses, cataract operations, and referrals for further treatment.
Through a partnership with Herona Hospital, under the guidance of Lion Dr. Garvin Mukalazi, the club supports cataract operations that help restore sight and prevent avoidable blindness. Through these services, we work to help individuals see clearly, live independently, and enjoy a brighter future.
The Lions Club of Mukono Host, in partnership with Herona Hospital, Kisoga, organizes medical camps that bring essential healthcare services closer to communities. The camps provide vision screening, blood pressure checks, diabetes screening, dental examinations, and tooth extractions, together with health education and referrals for further treatment where necessary.
Through these initiatives, we promote early detection, prevention, and access to essential healthcare services, helping communities live healthier lives

The Lions Club of Mukono Host, together with Lion Dr. Garvin Mukalazi of Herona Hospital, is committed to promoting diabetes awareness and prevention in the community. Through community diabetes awareness campaigns and screening camps, we provide early screening, health education, and guidance to individuals at risk.

The Lions Club of Mukono Host, in partnership with Herona Hospital, conducts cancer screening and awareness programmes in the communities we serve, including schools and other community settings.

The Lions Club of Mukono Host is committed to saving lives through blood donation. We organize and participate in blood donation drives, mobilizing Lions and community members to donate blood to Nakasero Blood Bank, Uganda.
Through these initiatives, we encourage more people to become regular blood donors and help ensure that life-saving blood is available for patients in need.

The Lions Club of Mukono Host promotes a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment through community clean-up campaigns. We clean public spaces such as markets and work with community members to maintain clean surroundings and promote good hygiene.
Through these initiatives, we encourage communities to take responsibility for their environment and build healthier, cleaner places for everyone. 🌍🧹

The Lions Club of Mukono Host actively participates in Multiple District and International Lions Conventions, creating opportunities for members to connect with Lions from across Uganda and around the world.
Through these gatherings, members take part in leadership training, educational programmes, fellowship activities, cultural experiences, and networking with other Lions Clubs. These connections strengthen friendships, promote the exchange of ideas, and inspire greater commitment to community service.

The Lions Club of Mukono Host attended the Multiple District Convention held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 24th to 30th April 2026
As part of the Buganda Kingdom Health Campaign “Tubele Balamu”, the Lions Club of Mukono Host, in partnership with Herona Hospital Kisoga, organized a two-day free vision camp at Kyaggwe Saza Grounds, Mukono.
The camp aimed to provide free eye care services to the community, including:
Eye screening for all ages
Free reading glasses for those with presbyopia
Eye treatment and provision of medication
Booking patients for free cataract surgeries (Small Incision Cataract Surgery)
Booking glaucoma patients for trabeculectomy procedures
Day 1: 550 patients attended; all received free drugs and readers where needed.
Day 2: 350 patients attended; some received drugs and readers.
Total: Over 900 people directly benefited from the camp.
Surgeries Booked: 30+ patients scheduled for free cataract operations; glaucoma cases booked for trabeculectomy.
The District Governor, Ln Tush Naturinda, paid an official visit to the Lions Club of Mukono Host, where she was warmly received by the Club President, Ln MJF Paul Mudduse, together with the entire membership.
As part of the visit, the club organized a series of humanitarian and community service activities. In partnership with Herona Hospital, the Lions facilitated cataract eye surgeries, through which 20 members of the community received free treatment and medication. The exercise also included tree planting within the hospital premises.
In addition, the club extended its service to the Salama School for the Blind in Mukono, where a donation of assorted essential items—including rice, posho, sugar, and sanitary supplies—was made to support the learners.
The day’s activities concluded with an official club meeting, presided over by the President, followed by a fellowship session and celebration with members. During this gathering, the District Governor decorated Lions with pins in recognition of their service, while the club in turn presented a donation to the Governor in appreciation of her leadership.
The Leo Club of Mukono Host, affiliated with Lions Clubs International, is a dynamic youth organization based in Mukono. As a chapter of the broader Leo Clubs network, it is dedicated to empowering young individuals to engage in community service and develop leadership skills.
Under the guidance of the sponsoring Lions Club of Mukono, the Leo Club of Mukono Host focuses on a variety of impactful projects, ranging from local community support to global initiatives. Members participate in activities such as organizing charity events, supporting educational programs, and addressing pressing social issues. The club aims to foster a sense of responsibility and teamwork among its members while contributing positively to the well-being of both the local and global community.
